We Want You! 

Did you know that over 90% of the fire departments in NYS are run completely by volunteers? That's right! Members of your community come together to respond to your emergencies when you dial 911. 

So what happens when you call 911? We can break it down for you;

• You dial 911

• You speak with a dispatcher and tell them the who/what/where/when/why/how of your emergency

• The dispatcher takes the information you're giving them and processes it into the appropriate call for either Fire, Police, or EMS (or all 3)

• The dispatch center then takes that call, pages out the department to respond for a call for service

• Once our pagers/text/app goes off, we then stop whatever we are doing and respond to the firehouse. We then get our gear on, and respond out to your emergency with our equipment

• Once we are there, we take care of the emergency and make it a safe environment again. 

We do this without taking a paycheck. It's the satisfaction of helping your community, and coming together as an organization to help one another when they are having a bad day. Without us, no one can respond to those emergencies. That's why we are always looking for new members to join our ranks and help out the community that they live in.

• Learning how to put out fires, vehicle extrication, technical skills such as ice water rescues or man vs. machine calls, and so much more.

• Official training and certifications from the Orange County Fire Training Center (when a National Class is completed, it can be used in any state)

• LOSAP System 

• Opportunity to train, drive and operate any of our apparatus (with the proper training from a Driver Training Officer) 

• A brand new firehouse with different amenities to help our members, and those citizens that we serve
